While ordering from Young Living every month is NOT required, if you're using your oils or oil-infused products, you'll be needing to frequently replenish your oil supply. And if you're ordering an average of $600 or more worth of oils and products per year, it just makes sense to take advantage of Young Living's Essential Rewards Program.
If you're ditching harmful products from your home, this is easy to do, and doesn't completely have to break the bank.
Young Living Essential Rewards Explained
Young Living offers the Essential Rewards program to wholesale customers as a thank you for being loyal to their brand.
Essential Rewards requires a 50 pv monthly minimum
(PV = personal volume points, often equal to wholesale $price on most consumable products).
Young Living does NOT charge any extra or additional fees anytime. Remember… once you are a wholesale member, you're a wholesale member as long as
The Essential Rewards program provides:
- 10-25% of the points purchased accrual in your account to be used as store credit to purchase items in a future order,
- discounted shipping,
- access to special rewards kits at discounted prices,
- access to earn free monthly promotional specials (oils and other products) with qualifying purchases (orders 100+pv),
- the ability to fully customize and change your order each month,
- the ability to change your process date each month
- and the ability to earn an income! (With monthly Essential Rewards orders of over 100 PV, you are eligible to receive an income too!)
The Essential Rewards Program rewards you for your loyalty. Whether you just started or have subscribed for over a year, you are well on your way to saving up points! These points can then be used as store credit to purchase products!
The longer you are on Essential Rewards, the greater the benefits to you.
If you purchase 50pv each month on Essential Rewards, you will receive $15+ total for the first 3 months. That would easily cover a new oil!
From your 4th month through your second year, you will accrue 20%. That's $95+ free for your choice of oils just in the first year of using essential rewards! After that, you'll receive 20% ($120+ total) for your second year on Essential Rewards to put towards free products just for continuing to purchase from Young Living.
After your second year, on month 25, you will begin accruing $25% on the PV of your purchases, which puts you at a minimum of receiving $150 in store credit to put towards FREE oils and oil infused products. Of course, as with any rewards program, the more you spend directly correlates to the more you earn!
In addition to accumulating points you can cash in for free products, you'll also be rewarded with loyalty bonuses!

Young Living Essential Oil Review
Last year (2019), I personally earned $892.17 in points and cashed in $917 worth of points total.
I tend to redeem my points for skincare items, Ningxia Red, and lavender bath bombs.
This is average for me. I often redeem slightly under $1,000 worth of product every year. I absolutely love the generosity of this company to give back to their loyal customers.
Essential Rewards Frequently Asked Questions
How do you budget a 50pv order on essential rewards
This was really difficult for me at first. I didn't know how I could swing it with only making $974 a month on disability. I was previously homeless, and very conscious about where every dime of my paycheck went.
I prioritized that 50pv each month because I needed the oils. They were the only things to help me through my debilitating seizure and autoimmune disorders, and quickly became a high priority.
My typical order back then looked like: Valor Essential Oil Blend and Lavender Essential Oil ($64 total wholesale cost). Those two oils were like lifelines for me.
Shortly after I shared about my dramatic health transformation, I started having numerous people I knew and people who I didn't know ask me for help getting started with oils, and an accidental business was born. This enabled me to afford ordering more each month.
Now, I max out at 300-400 pv because we use most of the personal care, supplement, and cleaning items Young Living offers in addition to our oils.
How do you track your Young Living Essential Rewards order?
- Log into your virtual office
- Select My Account
- Select My Order History

From there, you can see which order was most recently placed. If you click on the arrow on the right side of the order number and date, it will show you tracking information when available.
You can also open the order to see what you've ordered, all the costs, which free items your order qualified for, and the tracking link.
Can you buy a Starter Kit using Essential Rewards?
If you are a NEW member signing up for the first time, you MAY purchase your Starter Kit and your very first Essential Rewards order at the same time, AND score yourself an extra 10 Essential Rewards points for the Premium Starter kit. This is the only time you are allowed to do that.
If you are a current member, you may not purchase a Starter Kit using Essential Rewards or your ER points. You will need to click the “Shop” button in your virtual office to purchase another starter kit, if you choose to do so.
Purchasing a Starter Kit on an Essential Rewards order is a one time benefit of signing up for Essential Rewards when you first create your account.
Can you buy rose oil through Essential Rewards
Unfortunately, no. Rose essential oil, along with a few other oils and products, are not eligible for essential rewards orders because the PV does not match the $USD amount. This is because Young Living is selling it at a low price compared to the expenses needed to grow and distill the oils. Offering it to be redeemed on Essential Rewards would drive up the price more or would make the oils too expensive to sell.
Sometimes Young Living does offer a FREE rose essential oil bottle in specific promotions (usually if it happens, it's in February or around December).
You can tell which products are eligible for Essential Rewards by looking for the blue bookmark icon next to the product in the “Shop” tab in your Virtual Office.
What is the difference between Essential Rewards orders and Quick Orders in Young Living?
An Essential Rewards order is an order placed through the Essential Rewards tab in your Virtual Office. This type of order will allow you to accumulate Essential Rewards points that can later be redeemed for free products or oils. If you're not enrolled in Essential Rewards, you may do so at any time.
A quick order is a regular order that will NOT allow you to accumulate points. You will use a quick order to redeem your Essential Reward Points, or to make an additional order with Young Living. If you're not enrolled in Essential Rewards, you will use the Quick Order for making all your orders.
Is the Essential Rewards Program the same in all countries?
Yes, the percentages you earn back is the same on the PV purchased and timeline for all countries.

Can I skip a month on Essential Rewards?
You may, but you will start your qualification over on your next order. To keep your current month count for your loyalty rewards and percentages earned, you should not skip months.
Can you use your points or product credit for essential rewards?
No and Yes. You may not use your reward points to purchase your essential rewards order. You can only redeem your essential rewards points by making a one time order and using your essential rewards as the payment for qualifying products.
You can use your product credit on your essential rewards order, but in order to do so you will have to manually process your rewards order by calling customer service.
How do you cancel your Essential Rewards enrollment?
You may cancel your enrollment in Essential Rewards at any time by contacting customer service by calling or through live chat. All you need to do is provide your Member ID and PIN number and let them know you'd like to disenroll.
You may re-enroll at any time, but you will not qualify for the rewards kit oils that come after being enrolled in ER for 3, 6, 9, or 12 months. You will pick up your freebies where you left off, so if you cancelled at 8. months, you will receive the 9 month oil after you've been re-enrolled for 9 months. You will start over at 10% on your percentages too for earning points.
