How often do you catch yourself obsessing over the past events that made your life the way it is today? Or perhaps you've caught yourself obsessing over how those past experiences will forge your future into something you don't particularly want… We've all been there. So wrapped up in taking care of life priorities with one foot in the past and one foot in the future, spinning our wheels, barely able to keep afloat.
The problem… you're not living for you for today.
This was me. For more than 30 years. Constantly reliving memories, focused on how those memories will dictate my future… convinced life is totally out of anyone's control… of course that is also what everyone was telling me too… just roll with the tide and leave life up to fate/god/universe. Sound familiar?
in 2017 I started taking with a friend of mine who turns out to be an amazing transformation coach (totally didn't realize that until after we started talking more in-depth), who did an amazing job helping me get out of my own way. She showed me what few people realize is that we are creators with the potential, ability, and responsibility to create what we see in our lives. She helped me see that I was stuck because 70% of my thought process was away from me and from the here and now. She helped me realize that my attempts to hone in on re-learning who I am and to grow who I am aren't selfish, but is absolutely needed to help me best serve my readers, my family, and my members. This included reigning myself in for some major introspection, and lead to me fully embracing me… something I would love to see you experience too.
Bring yourself back to now..
'If you want to know your past — look into your present conditions. If you want to know your future — look into your present actions.' ~ Chinese ProverbWhere are your thoughts?
Are they lingering in the past? Do you spend a lot of your mental capacity thinking about things that have already happened, and how they'll affect you in the future? Do you feel imprisoned by old choices? Does your past hold you back from making decisions/choices/changes now?
Do they project into the future? Are you so focused on all the future potential possibilities that you're stuck with the inability to take action? Are you feeling so trapped by your current situation that all future possibilities appear to be unattainable daydreams?
What if you could bring your awareness into the present moment and experience every second as a gift? What if you could make a small shift and unlock the ability to truly treasure each present moment? What if you could learn a valuable lesson from the past, and use it to totally restructure your future? Is that even possible?
I know… but you have so much to do already… we all do. Who creates your “to do” list? Who keeps you busy running around the clock? Are you chasing the ever illusive “White Rabbit,” always on the go, go, go? Well… Who even created the “White Rabbit” anyways? Yes — You did! You created your to-do list… and its expected timeframe completion. And just as you created it, You can un-create it!
Now this doesn't mean you can slack off and not pressure wash the house, wash your dishes, feed your kids, or shower. Of course hygiene, home upkeep, and family wellness are absolutely priorities. But does everything have to be done 100% all the time while you're reliving your past over and over again in your mind, fretting over what the future will hold?
Make the decision now to bring your consciousness into the present moment. This is the only place to be. In this place, you will find peace.

Live presently through introspection
Recently I've dived down deep into journaling and am really enjoying the personal growth that has been coming from it. Incase you're on a similar journey or want to give it a try, here are a few journal prompts to write through:
- Where are my thoughts?
- Do I feel like I'm chasing life?
- Am I allowing “what is” to occur?
- Am I present?
Use affirmations to help keep your mind in the now
I live in the present moment, peacefully and purposefully. I choose to live in the only moment where life is... right here, right now.. I choose to let go of my painful chains to the past. My present will determine my future.Essential oils can help you not obsess over the past or future so you can appreciate and live for today
Bergamot helps you with mellowing out a worrisome perspective. It helps re-center you so you can be here and now instead of fretting over how past events affect the future.
Clary sage, geranium, and patchouli are all fantastic to use for self-hypnosis. Frankincense, myrrh, roman chamomile, sandalwood, palo santo, and tsuga are all great for meditation. These will help you with calming your mind and entering a much more peaceful state so you can clear the clutter and just be.
Lavender, orange, valerian, rose, lemon, mastrante, ylang ylang are all fantastic oils to use to help you relax.
Fir oils are great for helping you settle your mind so you're more open to receiving.

Don't want to DIY? We have a great pre-mae blend for that!
You don't need to DIY everything with essential oils to gain the results you want or need. While DIY can be fun sometimes, I totally get as a busy wife, mom, and entrepreneur that there isn't always time to DIY everything you need.
Present Time Essential Oil Blend, by Young Living, is our favorite. Present Time essential oil blend was specifically created to help you bring yourself back into the current moment. We cannot live for yesterday. Nor can we live for tomorrow. We can only heal ourselves from the past, learn lessons from past events, and intentionally live today to provide us with the future we want, need, and deserve.
Present Time (item number 3396), consisting of neroli, black spruce, and ylang ylang, does just that… encourages your mood and mindset to stay in the now.
To order Present Time, you'll need either a wholesale or retail membership. If you don't have one, you can learn more about it over on our Membership Page.
