Thieves Cleaner is one of my family's absolute favorite non-toxic cleaning products. It works for cleaning everything in our home, garage, yard, and even grill. My favorite part: DIY Thieves Household Cleaner is extremely easy to make, and also very effective at cleaning nearly everything you task it (though on tougher jobs, you may require some extra soaking, applications, and scrubbing.

Make Your Own Homemade Thieves Multi-Purpose Cleaner

Making your own DIY cleaners is a great option for replacing toxic cleaning products populating nearly all the shelf space of local and online stores that are filled with artificial fragrances, neurotoxins, hormone disruptors, and carcinogens (including many green cleaning products).

Thieves Household Cleaner is a natural cleaner that gets its power and efficiency from essential oils, and thankfully, it is a natural cleaning option that is very easy to make, easy to use, and also benefits your immune system. Because of this, it's the only cleaner under my family's sink.

Simple DIY Thieves Household Cleaner Instructions

Simply add 1 drop of Thieves Essential Oil Blend per ounce of water into a glass spray bottle.

For a more concentrated aroma and cleaner, add one drop per half an ounce of water.

This is easily the easiest cleaning recipe you could possibly make… and the best part: no harsh chemicals.

You can amplify the cleaning power of Thieves by adding in an extra few drops of lemon oil. Lemon is my favorite essential oil to add to cleaners because of its degreasing abilities and it is helpful for taking care of tough stains.

DIY Thieves Household Cleaner Recipe with Vinegar

• 1/2 cup white vinegar
• 1/2 cup purified or distilled water
• 8-16 drops Thieves Essential Oil Blend
• 8 oz spray bottle (preferably a colored glass bottle)

Add one part vinegar, one part water, and 8-16 drops of Thieves oil into a colored glass spray bottle. Shake and spray to use.

DIY Thieves Cleaner Recipe with Castile Soap

• Distilled or purified water
• 2 teaspoons of Castile Soap
• (OPTIONAL) 2 oz unscented Witch hazel (which you can also DIY)
• 8-16 drops Thieves Essential Oil Blend
• 8 oz glass spray bottle

Add the castile soap to your glass spray bottle, then add the Thieves oil and witch hazel (if you choose to use it), and fill the rest of the way with water.

How To Use Your DIY Thieves Household Cleaner

As mentioned before, this one cleaner does just about everything for my family. There are so many different ways to use it, including:

• Clean your kitchen countertops (or completely replace all your kitchen all purpose cleaners)
• Clean your floors
• Make Thieves Spray to take it with you on the go in a smaller spray bottle
• Clean your grill
• Laundry stain remover
• Make a soft scrub with baking soda to use as a degreaser, tub cleaner, or grout cleaner
• Replace your bathroom cleaner (works great for hard water stains too)
• Clean your washer
• … and so many more handy uses.

My favorite not-so-common ways to use Thieves Cleaner is as a dishwashing detergent, dish soap, and laundry detergent replacement. My family does this a lot while moving (as a military family we move often), and having a product that can multi-task in such diverse ways is a high priority. Instead of packing a glass cleaner, multipurpose cleaner, heavy duty cleaner, dish soap, laundry soap, and all the other things we could possibly bring to clean the house we move out of and the house we move into (or spend the extra money on cleaning services or throwing away products and purchasing new bottles before and after moving), I indulge in my inner minimalist and bring just one 8 oz bottle.

There are many other things you can make with Thieves Essential Oil Blend too, like DIY Toothpaste and Mouthwash, make your own laundry soap, or make your own foaming hand soap.
