13 Essential Oils to Support Your Root Chakra

Sharing is caring!

Each chakra is an energy center that, just like any other area of your body, needs attention and support to maintain feeling balanced and fully functional.

The root chakra represents our existential foundation. Having a balanced root chakra radiates feeling grounded. It provides us with feeling stable, secure, and represents our basic needs. When this chakra is open, we feel safe and fearless.

The root chakra is located at the base of your spine, where your tailbone is, encompassing your first three vertebrae, your bladder, and your colon area.

Emotionally, the root chakra is associated with survival needs, such as financial wellbeing, independence, and food.

When our root chakra is out of balance, it may be the root cause for digestive distress, focus difficulties, dependency or co-dependency, materialism, anger, frustration, depressed emotions, restlessness, fear, guilt, and self doubt, along with difficulties with your feet, legs, and hips. This also may lead to gaining weight or struggling to lose weight.

When your root chakra is open and balanced, you will find yourself feeling more confident, capable, calm, and focused.

One of my favorite ways to help keep our chakras in balance is using essential oils. Why? Chakras are essentially energy centers in your body, and essential oils carry specific energetic frequencies. When you look at your body on an energetic level, these frequencies tune in with each other to achieve an energetic balance.

There are 13 essential oils that specifically support your root chakra. These oils include:

How to use essential oils for opening your root chakra

To use essential oils for your root chakra, you may diffuse or dilute and apply your oils topically to your skin. I recommend applying over your lower abdomen area and arches of your feet.

While using your oils to help open your root chakra, take some time to meditate or focus on a few affirmations, such as:

I am present, safe in my body, confident, and peaceful

It also helps to make the affirmation more personal by replacing “I” with your first name, or to speak it to yourself while making eye contact with your reflection.
