DIY Thieves Essential Oil Blend Recipe:
- 80 drops of Clove essential oil
- 70 drops of Lemon oil or Orange oil (or you can use both)
- 40 drops of Cinnamon Bark essential oil
- 30 drops of Eucalyptus Radiata essential oil
- 20 drops of Rosemary Essential oil
To make your DIY Thieves Essential Oil Blend, add all 5 essential oils into a 15 ml dark or colored glass bottle. This recipe will give you approximately 240 drops (possibly more if additional droplets slip out). A 15ml glass bottle holds roughly 255 drops, so you won't be filling the bottle all the way to the top.

I love reusing old bottles. You can reuse your own bottles by boiling them and allowing them to dry first to ensure they're clean. If you don't have old bottles to reuse (we keep all of ours), you can purchase them from Amazon or other bottle companies.

** PLEASE NOTE ** Don't be fooled by clever marketing. Not all essential oils are created equally. Make sure you're not wasting your money on fake or altered essential oils (even if they're labeled as “pure essential oil”). Don't miss our explosive report outlining the dirty little secrets of the essential oil industry to ensure you're not wasting your money on brands of oils that legally mislead you through deceitful marketing practices.
DIY Thieves Essential Oil Blend Roller Recipe:
Depending on what is going on, you may want to create your DIY Thieves essential oil blend straight into a roller bottle. This keeps it easy and convenient to use, and requires a little less essential oil than filling up a full 15ml bottle.
- 40 drops of Clove essential oil
- 35 drops of Lemon essential oil or Orange essential oil
- 20 drops of Cinnamon Bark essential oil
- 15 drops of Eucalyptus Radiata essential oil
- 10 drops of Rosemary Essential oil
Need empty bottles? You can order them from any bottle supply shop that offers essential oil bottles or even off Amazon. Personally, we save our old essential oil bottles, remove the labels, and reuse the bottles with a roller fitment. On occasion, we indulge in a YL branded roller bottle (they're so pretty). To reuse your bottles, ensure they are clean by soaking the empty bottle disassembled in boiling water for at least 15 minutes. Then let dry. Need a fun roller bottle?
Where to Buy Essential Oils
We purchase our oils through Young Living because they set a higher standard for essential oils than what the rest of the industry expects. Their Seed to Seal guarantee is unmatched, and shows their dedication to a farm-to-table type of approach.
Warning: DO NOT purchase your oils through Amazon or similar websites!
Any website that allows anyone to sell on, such as Amazon, eBay, Walmart… etc… are terrible places to purchase essential oils. While you may get a “good deal,” knowing who you're purchasing from is difficult. There are many counterfeit essential oils being sold that are causing health ailments, major skin reactions, and a lot of misery. These are NOT high quality essential oils. They are fakes being sold purely for profit.
I also do NOT recommend purchasing from grocery stores, Walmart, Target, department stores, or drug stores. Many of the brands found at those stores have been proven to not actually contain any essential oil (which is perfectly legal to do).
I STRONGLY suggest you know the company that makes your oils, how the plants are cared for, what they do for distilling, how and how many times each batch is tested (and when), and their bottling processes. Many companies throw out fancy language for marketing purposes, but actually have no clue how their oils are made because the oils come from a broker (which are almost always diluted in solvents). Transparency is key.
I highly encourage you to check out our How To Find Quality Essential Oils post for in-depth information about why quality matters, and what to look for.
Where we purchase our essential oils, and why
We purchase our oils through Young Living because they set a higher standard for essential oils than what the rest of the industry expects. Their Seed to Seal guarantee is unmatched, and shows their dedication to a farm-to-table type of approach. This company has proven to me time and time again to be the closest thing out there to buying from your local farmer. They are totally transparent in their processes, and even open their farms so you can see for yourself (or involve yourself in the process).

Hi Nicole,
I’m making THC for the first time. Once I make the oil blend, do I use a carrier oil or distilled water to make the basic cleaner?
Hi Nancy! Thank you for asking! There are a few different ways to use Thieves essential oil blend for making a cleaner. One way is to add 1 drop per ounce of water (I recommend a pinch of salt, and shake it before use). You can also opt for adding it to diluted vinegar (1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup vinegar, 8-16 drops Thieves Essential Oil Blend depending on how strong you want it). Or you can mix it with castile soap (1 cup water, 2 tsp castile soap, 8-16 drops of Thieves). I do recommend using a glass spray bottle. I hope this helps!
