10 best essential oils to give as gifts

  • Melissa Essential Oil
  • Sandalwood Essential Oil
  • Helichrysum Essential Oil
  • Lemon Myrtle Essential Oil
  • Frankincense Essential Oil
  • Jasmine Essential Oil
  • Rose Essential Oil
  • Neroli Essential Oil (orange blossom)
  • Bergamot Essential Oil
  • Lavender Essential Oil

We chose these essential oils because most of them are oils that most beginner oilers don't purchase for themselves, either because of cost, or not knowing what to do with them, or because its an oil no one should be without.

** PLEASE NOTE ** Don't be fooled by clever marketing. Not all essential oils are created equally. Make sure you're not wasting your money on fake or altered essential oils (even if they're labeled as “pure essential oil”). Don't miss our explosive report outlining the dirty little secrets of the essential oil industry to ensure you're not wasting your money on brands of oils that legally mislead you through deceitful marketing practices.

Essential oil diffuser gift ideas

I'm one of those people who truly feels that if you don't have a diffuser in every room of your home that you don't have enough. Then again, I may have a slight addiction.

What better way to decorate your home with beautiful works of art, than to have that art provide a therapeutic and healthy function?? Make the room smell incredible, without the toxins, or plastic diffusers… Sold!!

I love all four of these. They are beautiful works of art that have purpose. I'm a huge advocate for choosing utility over aesthetics, but I truly do believe all four of these provide both.

Essential Oil Diffuser Case Ideas

When you have a mountain of oil bottles and diffusers, you end up wanting to take them with you when traveling. These are a few of our favorites!! The black one is especially convenient as it fits a Young Living home diffuser perfectly, and still has room for a dozen oil bottles (either 5ml or 15ml) – perfect for moving or traveling.

Book gift ideas for people who love essential oils

I haven't met an essential oil enthusiast who doesn't appreciate a good book… especially when it provides new ideas on how to use their stash of essential oils! Below are a few of my favorites. Aside from my Desk Reference Guide, I definitely use these the most and highly recommend them to those I coach as well.

The Organic Beauty book is a lot of fun to sift through. This is where I get a lot of inspiration and ideas for making holiday, hostess, and birthday gifts as well. Everyone seems to love homemade items and this book doesn't disappoint!

The Releasing Emotional Patterns book is absolutely fascinating! It's all about how emotions can directly affect your health and how to go about releasing and recovering from emotions to help you find balance.

The Healing Intelligence book is another intriguing one perfect for information nerds. It is all about how the body's immune system works and how you can support it to stay healthy.

The Animal Desk Reference is a great reference guides for people who have pets of all sizes (including farm animals). It has a nice balanced approach from being clinical, but written in a manner where you don't need to be a medical or veterinary expert to understand. I love how simple it is to read, and helpful it has been for our family and friends.

DIY gift ideas featuring essential oils

Making gifts is a lot of fun, and is often incredibly well received. Our homemade sugar scrubs and body butters are always a huge hit among family members, and the most asked for. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do (click the photos to be taken to the recipes). The best starting point I've found (aside from Pinterest) is the Organic Beauty book I recommended earlier. If you're looking for additional ideas, head over to our Facebook Page and check out our DIY photo album, and will be adding new ideas there as well.

Being an avid oil user, if you're looking for specific essential oils to give as a gift, I would strongly recommend these because they are my personal favorites. I recommend them to everyone looking for oils to try. Envision, Abundance, Stress Away, Purification – those are some of our customers' favorite oils, and we absolutely love them too!

Gift ideas that aren't essential oils or essential oil accessories

I thought I would add a few more items in here that my family personally uses and loves. They aren't essential oils or items that facilitate the use of essential oils, but they go hand in hand with the nontoxic lifestyle that essential oil enthusiasts love.

Himalayan salt lamps are absolutely incredible, and now come in a wide variety of aesthetically pleasing options (not just the big hunk of salt). When turned on, they have reported to purify the air by charging negative ions that can boost blood flow, improve sleep, increase happiness, and calm your respiratory tract. They've also been reported to help reduce allergies, migraines, and insomnia, while increasing your energy during the day.

“As all living systems (including human beings) are bio-electric in nature, the electrically charged particles affect the way we feel and act. In natural setting a balance of positive and negative ions contributes to one's sensations and perceptions. Atmospheric ions can affect health, well-being, efficiency, emotions and mental attitude of human beings.”

Dryer balls are the perfect alternative to dryer sheets. If you haven't checked out how your dryer sheets rate on the Environmental Working Group's database, you should! Dryer sheets can cause a whole host of health problems and are one of the worst polluters of the average American home. Ditching those for dryer balls is a wise idea, as dryer balls are typically made of wool, fully nontoxic, decrease your clothes' drying time, and you can drip a few drops of your favorite essential oil on them to help freshen up how your laundry smells. See more in my post about laundry.

And what would a healthy lifestyle be without ditching plastic drinking bottles for a glass one. Glass doesn't have chemical liners on them and won't leach chemicals into your drink. You won't have to worry either about chemical components used to make plastic leaching into your drinks either. Your taste buds and future health will thank you. My favorite glass water bottles are made by Life Factory come with silicone covers to help protect the bottle.
