RutaVala is a proprietary essential oil blend created by Young Living, consisting of lavender, valerian, and ruta essential oils, pre-diluted in fractionated coconut oil and prepared for you in an easy to use roller bottle. RutaVala essential oil blend also comes undiluted in a 5ml bottle.
This essential oil blend I personally find to be a bit on the bitter-floral side.
I personally do not make this essential oil blend through copy cat DIY Recipes. Ruta is not an essential oil that is easy to work with nor should be used by itself. Because of that I only trust it in essential oil blends that are professionally made.

Frequently Asked Questions About Rutavala Essential Oil Blend
A list of our most frequently asked questions:
Is Rutavala Discontinued?
No. RutaVala Essential Oil Blend is NOT discontinued. For a while it went out of stock due to weather and farming conditions not producing enough Ruta to meet the demand for this essential oil blend. But when there is enough of Ruta and Valerian essential oils to produce this blend that also meets their high standards, Young Living does produce this blend. In fact, in February 2020 you can get this oil FREE with qualifying purchases!
What is the difference between RutaVala and Tranquil Roll Ons?
Rutavala contains rue, valerian, and lavender essential oils. It has a bitter-floral aroma. It comes in a pre-diluted roller bottle with fractionated coconut oil, and also comes in an undiluted 5ml bottle.
Tranquil essential oil blend roll on is made with lavender, cedarwood, and roman chamomile pre-diluted in fractionated coconut oil. This oil blend has much more of a woodsy-floral aroma.
Both are excellent for calming down and sleeping better. Tranquil’s cedarwood may enhance dreams.
What is the doTERRA equivalent to RutaVala Essential Oil Blend?
doTerra doesn’t have the same equivalent to RutaVala. The closest they have is Serenity, which is calming.
Is RutaVala Safe for Dogs and Cats?
I do not recommend using this blend on your animals because of the Rue.
Is RutaVala safe for kids?
I personally take a more conservative view on using essential oils. Because of this, I do not use this blend on my children (both are currently under 6), and probably will not offer this blend to them until their teenage years.
Is RutaVala Essential Oil Blend Safe For Pregnancy?
No. Ruta essential oil in the RutaVala blend is not considered to be safe for pregnancy. If you are currently pregnant or plan to be pregnant soon, this would be a good oil to avoid.
How do you apply RutaVala when it comes in an undiluted 5ml bottle?
Apply RutaVala the same way you would any other essential oil blend. Dilute it first for an aromatic massage or create your own roller bottle with it. You may also diffuse it, but I found I don’t personally enjoy it being diffused.
To dilute RutaVala, I recommend no more than one drop of essential oil per ml (or tsp) of your favorite carrier oil. My favorite carrier oils are Young Living’s V-6, sweet almond oil and grapeseed oil.
